We believe, that each of us must treat wealth as an asset in our trust for the community. A deep and genuine concern for society permeates all our operations. In addition to our private trusts, each of our companies carries out its own special agenda of corporate citizenship. Our philosophy since inception in 1910 stems from the firm conviction that we must, in turn, nurture the society that sustains us. The welfare of our employees is a vital element of our corporate policy. This encompasses continuous training and self development programs. We have also been the first to implement innovative employee polices like those against sexual harassment at the workplace.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility Report, 2007-08, titled “Living Responsibly” reports on the noteworthy contributions of successive generations of our shareholders and the combined experience that has evolved into a strategy to drive resources into the social sector initiatives through institutionalized processes.

We believe that the efforts detailed in the report help our shareholders and employees to, individually as citizens, and collectively as a corporate, reach out beyond business to connect with the community.
