Women

"When women thrive, all of society benefits, and succeeding generations are given a better start in life."
Kofi Annan

The role of women in the development of society is of utmost importance, because it is women who shape the consciousness of the younger generation and unless they themselves are educated, enlightened and empowered, they will not be able to instill progressive, gender-equitable values and belief systems in their offspring. However, in a country like India, women, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, do not have the same opportunities as men when it comes to education and the opportunity to develop their personal ambitions, interests and talents and achieve financial independence. At the Apeejay Surrendra Group, we support programmes and initiatives that bring about the advancement, development and empowerment of women because we believe that this is the true and sustainable way of bringing about social change in the country.
